I have had this postal order for a very long time.It was issued on the 16th. of August 1937 at a place called Blackwood. The county abbreviation is 'MON.'

I know that this postal order is definitely from Wales, but there are 2 counties that would have 'MON.' as an abbreviation - Monmouthsire & Montgomeryshire.

Do you know in which county Blackwood is located in? My postal order is an interesting issue during the early part of King George VI's reign.

I am sorry,as I can't post photos,because I haven't yet got a digital camera,a scanner,or a printer.

Aidan.

John,
Thanks for confirming that my Welsh 6d. postal order is a Monmouthshire issue.
